So What's Happening is......

Songs, Sunsets & Pausing for Breath – August Notes

Jeffrey Slough Music

Hey friends,

As summer starts to slide toward its final chorus, I’ve been thinking a lot about just how much life can pack into a few short weeks. Music, travel, unexpected turns—some joyful, some not so much—but all of it real, and all of it part of the journey.

First off—let’s talk gigs. Because there are some good ones coming up, and I’d love to see your faces out there.

In July, I had the chance to spend a couple of weeks in Greece—Athens and the islands. Something about the light over there… it gets into your bones. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. I became a fan of bouzouki music and mournful folk songs. I came back sunburned, rested, and buzzing with new song ideas. It was a needed reset.

But life being what it is, I also came home to some tougher news. I’ve been diagnosed with a health issue that’s going to require a bit of a detour this fall. Nothing dire, but it means I’ll be stepping away from the stage for a little while to focus on healing and doing what needs to be done.

Until then, the next few shows mean a lot to me. If you’ve been thinking about catching one, this is a good time. If there’s a song you want to hear, let me know—I’ll do my best to work it in.

Thanks for walking this path with me.

Oh—and one more thing: I’ll be kicking off a blog on my website soon. It’ll be a place where I share stories, song ideas, travel reflections, and whatever else is rattling around in my brain. I would hate to get out of touch during this down time so this is where I'll ramble about what is going on. If you want to leave a message, share your thoughts, or just say hello, you’ll be able to do that there too. I’d love to hear from you.

Here’s to the road, more songs, and more stories.
